One of six roundtable discussions featured at the NH Food Alliance's 2021 NH Food System Statewide Gathering, the "Increase Farmland Conservation and Access" roundtable provided a shared understanding of integrated models in action that support farmland conservation, stewardship, access, and viability.
Facilitated by Amanda Littleton of the Cheshire County Conservation District and Charlene Andersen of the NH Community Loan Fund, the roundtable attendees heard presentations from land conservation leaders and professionals including: Jeremy Lougee, the Conservation Project Manager and Farmland Coordinator at Southeast Land Trust of New Hampshire (SELT), Littleton on the Farm Future Fund, and Ian McSweeney, the Director of Agrarian Trust.
Following the presentations, the facilitators held a Q&A for the presenters and the roundtable attendees that ended in the following call to action: support and grow innovative land conservation models in New Hampshire and direct local landowners to resources and tools to help manage and assess the conservation, access, or farm viability of their land.
