On Wednesday 3/9, the House passed a $1.5 trillion omnibus appropriations bill to fund the government through September. The Senate also passed it on Thursday night 3/10. The overall package includes $25.125 billion in discretionary funding for food and agriculture programs. This represents a $1.4 billion (6%) increase above fiscal year 2021.
The 2022 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies funding bill provides discretionary funding of $25.125 billion – an increase of $1.426 billion, 6 percent – above 2021. In total, the bill includes $234.2 billion for both discretionary programs funded on an annual basis and mandatory programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. READ MORE >>
