"More than 40 school districts in New Hampshire might see a change in their cafeteria menus this year thanks to a first-of-its-kind program.

A U.S. Department of Agriculture grant is connecting local schools with local farms. 

"The best food you can have is the closest to you," Josh Marshall, the state's director of agricultural development, said.

New Hampshire officials said the program is a win-win, making inter-community connections, offering healthier food options to New Hampshire children and helping farmers who are struggling this year."
