On November 3, the NH Food Alliance (NHFA) hosted "Estimating Production for Regional Self-Reliance," part of our 2023-2024 Network Cafe Series. During the café, we were joined by Christian Peters, of the USDA Agricultural Research Service’s Food Systems Research Unit, who led a research team that developed Volume 2 of A Regional Approach to Food System Resilience. The research team created a model of regional self-reliance by estimating the region’s production of food commodities compared to its consumption. We heard an overview of the volume, including what the team learned and the volume's implications for New Hampshire's food system.
