Below is a notice from the NH Department of Health and Human Services about the reinstatement and forthcoming launch of the WIC Farmers' Market Program in New Hampshire. Please spread the word to New Hampshire growers to participate in the program this summer!
Attention New Hampshire Growers:
Did you know the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is coming back to New Hampshire this summer?
WIC FMNP has nearly $400,000 in food benefits to be redeemed by participants at authorized New Hampshire farmers’ markets and roadside stands this summer. Eligible participants enrolled in the WIC Program will receive a $30 FMNP benefit to buy local, fresh produce including fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs this summer between July 1 and October 31.
An easy-to-use electronic solution will allow authorized farmers to accept FMNP transactions using a smart device. Participating farmers will receive weekly reimbursements in exchange for redeemed FMNP benefits. The FMNP is a way to provide fresh, nutritious, locally grown fruits, vegetables and cut herbs to families in our communities.
Interested in becoming an authorized farmer for the 2024 summer season or want to find out more about the NH WIC FMNP? Please reach out to WICvendor@dhhs.nh.gov or fill out this short form.
