"PORTSMOUTH — Can there ever be too many cooks in the kitchen? At Great Bay Community College, award-winning chefs from Portsmouth and the school's leaders are looking to recruit the next wave of cooks and aspiring restaurateurs to the booming local industry.

The 12-week Culinary Arts and Sustainable Foodways course will start in February, giving students a firsthand feel for the art of cuisine preparation, the business of food and put their skills to the test in local kitchens.

Three Portsmouth chefs — Black Trumpet owner Evan Mallett, Moxy and The Franklin owner Matt Louis, and Botanica Restaurant and Gin Bar owner Brendan Vesey — join registered dietician Hannah Wolf as instructors. Ten students will be accepted for the spring course and other 10 for fall 2025."
