"New Hampshire’s SOIL is rich for roots to take hold, familiar and unfamiliar. The Organization for Refugee and Immigrant Success, knew this when they partnered with New American Sustainable Agriculture Project to create Fresh Start Farms in 2008.
Beginning in Dunbarton, Fresh Start has expanded to own or lease plots in Boscawen and Concord as well, currently run by farmers from Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Somalia, Nepal, Ghana, Tanzania, Cameroon and Uganda and Zimbabwe.
In 2023, a second farm with more fertile soil was opened in Concord, and is now operated by 10 farmers. The first farm is still operational with 20 farmers, but it’s primarily for growing food for the farmers and their families." read more
