The Better Food Policy Fund's debut grantmaking program will award $600,000 across in unrestricted funding 10 US-based food policy councils over two years to support their work to effect better food policy through civic collaboration.
Through this pilot program, they seek to celebrate and uplift the work of food policy councils and believe every food policy council is worthy of funding. They hope to grow and expand the field of food policy councils through funding and fostering shared learning.
As part of this program, the Better Food Policy Fund will facilitate shared learning opportunities amongst grantees and with other food policy council stakeholders, and as needed to support grantees as they pursue their intended goals. The Fund will also use shared learnings and stories arising from this pilot program to educate funders and expand funding opportunities that support food policy councils.
Application period: January 20-March 5
Awards Range: $60,000
