On September 2, the NH Food Alliance (NHFA) hosted "Six Ways to Build a Climate Resilient Food System," to kickoff its 2022-2023 Network Cafe Series. The Cafe began with a brief overview from Rob Werner of the League of Conservation Voters of the recently passed federal Inflation Reduction Act and the potential of the legislation to benefit New Hampshire's farmers. Following, the NHFA Backbone team provided an overview of the “How Do We Build a Climate Resilient Food System in New Hampshire? Six Ways that Sustainable Food Systems Build Climate Resilience” framework that was created by the NHFA's Climate Action Team and how the framework will shape the rest of the forthcoming Network Cafes in the 2022-2023 series. Attendees spent the second half of the Cafe networking in six breakout rooms organized by the six parts of the framework. We asked each breakout room discuss the specific topic from the framework, including what speakers and topics they were interested in hearing from and learning more about.
Please view a recording of this Network Cafe below! And feel free to follow along with the agenda here. And please review the breakout room notes documents here and add to them.
Our next Network Cafe will be on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12-1PM and will cover the topic of protecting farmland, making it accessible to all farmers, and practicing regenerative land stewardship.
